WALKER, Minn. — A Cass Lake man has pleaded guilty in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ross Littlewolf pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree intentional murder and two counts of second-degree assault with a firearm in Cass County.

The plea agreement calls for Littlewolf to serve 45 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled April 30.

Prosecutors allege Littlewolf fired a shotgun blast through a sliding glass door to enter the Cass Lake home of 22-year-old Kandace Blaine Dunn and then shot her in the head last June.

Dunn was sharing a room with her two young children — one of whom is also Littlewolf's child.

Littlewolf then entered another bedroom where an adult couple were sleeping, aimed the gun and threatened to kill them. Littlewolf was later arrested at a relative's home.
