The Reading Rodeo is an event to get parents involved with reading, writing and singing.

Organizers have seen a 40 percent increase in the number of families participating over the past few years.

This year more than 260 people attended the event.

"The parent model is so powerful for our students and it definitely backs the research that says the more reading kids do outside of the school setting the better their achievement, so the more we can encourage that it's just better for our kids," Lori Gangle said.

Faculty and staff are happy to see nearly 75 percent of the school's families taking part in the event.
