GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - The Grand Forks city council is meeting tonight and hearing from the public on a proposed ordinance that would prevent the adult-themed store Fantasy's from opening on North Washington Street.
That ordinance creates a licensing requirement for sexually-oriented businesses that would prohibit them from opening near schools and churches. The council is holding a second reading and public hearing.
The store's owner, Kim Patterson, says she will continue to fight the city even if the council approves the ordinance tonight.
Council members voted five to two in favor of the draft during its first hearing on March 19.
