DEVILS LAKE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Authorities have released the names of two women found dead in a Devils Lake.

Devils Lake Police Detective Sue Schwab says police received a 911 call about 11:15 Tuesday morning at 117 Walnut Street.

They found 56-year-old Roberta Lee Bell and 52-year-old Martha Jean Littlewind, both of Devils Lake, unresponsive.

Bell was pronounced dead at the scene. Littlewind was taken to Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake where she could not be resuscitated.

Schwab doesn't label the deaths as suspicious, but she says finding two bodies in one location is not common. Schwab says the women did not live at the apartment.

"They're being treated as deaths from unknown circumstances that caused the deaths. There were no outward signs of foul play," Schwab said.

Two other women were in the apartment. Officers interviewed both, but there have been no arrests.

The bodies have been sent to Bismarck for autopsies.

It may take months before police know the exact cause of the womens' deaths.
