MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The FBI is investigating whether a crime was committed in the death of a northern Minnesota woman from apparent burn injuries.
The Hennepin County medical examiner's office says 53-year-old Melvina "Tiny" Jackson of Redby died Friday at HCMC of "complications from thermal injuries."
The medical examiner says Jackson was injured a day earlier while at a home in Red Lake.
An FBI spokesman tells the Star Tribune the bureau is investigating whether or not criminal activity caused her death.
Federal authorities are investigating because it happened on an American Indian reservation.
