EAST GRAND FORKS, MN (WDAZ-TV) - An East Grand Forks woman has been running a day care out of her home for nearly 20 years. But this year, she's caring for a few more children than she bargained for.
Cathy Robertson had to get a special variance to take more infants than typically allowed in a day care setting. And many wonder how she does it.
Robertson takes care of 11 children under the age of six, and many of them have her seeing double.
"She called me and said, 'I'm having twins. I'm telling you before my mother because I have to know if you have room," Robertson said.
Robertson is now taking care of Rylan, Natalie, Weston, Jaxon, Reese, Maddie, Ned and Nash. If you lost count, that's four sets of twins.
"It's 'wow,' because there are days with two when it's busy and she has four sets of two and some extras," parent Tricia Fore said.
"They all help, they all watch each other, they're all like a big family," Robertson said.
The 55-year-old doesn't just watch the kids, she also teaches them a preschool curriculum with everything from letters to numbers, even other languages.
Cathy has cared for all 11 children since they were born.
