GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Police say a 19-year-old man was injured while attempting to cross between railcars of a stopped train in downtown Grand Forks.

Authorities say the man apparently became entangled on an apparatus of the train and when he jumped off he twisted or broke his ankle.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that the man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. No condition report was available.

A 20-year-old University of North Dakota student was found dead last month in a Grand Forks rail yard. A preliminary investigation determined that the victim was going through the yard when he was struck by a train.
