GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - You're going to see a lot more of us starting Thursday. WDAZ is unveiling an exciting change to our newscasts.

We will be filling up your screen as WDAZ broadcasts in widescreen for the first time. We'll be expanding from 4:3 video to 16:9 so you can get more out of your widescreen TV.

"I think the viewers are going to love it. They're used to basically watching a box and now we're going to fill the screen up and it all starts tomorrow," WDAZ Station Manager Rob Horken said.

Our new and improved newscasts will have higher quality and show you things you weren't able to see before.

"The entire staff at WDAZ has been working very, very hard on getting all of the technical ends covered for this transition," Horken said.

Our new format will allow you to see more in the field and in the studio.

"The biggest difference is going to be when the anchors are on," Horken said.

If you have problems watching our widescreen newscasts, contact your cable or satellite provider for help.
