'Farm Safety Day' Held in Crookston

CROOKSTON, MN (WDAZ-TV) There was an effort to improve farm safety locally on Friday in Crookston. The event involved sixth graders from Fertile-Beltrami, Win-E-Mac, and Crookston.

CROOKSTON, MN (WDAZ-TV) There was an effort to improve farm safety locally on Friday in Crookston. The event involved sixth graders from Fertile-Beltrami, Win-E-Mac, and Crookston.

About 200 Students spent time at several learning stations at the Crookston Sport Center.

Instructors taught basic safety rules in areas such as first aid, lawnmower safety and electrical safety.

"You hear of accidents of kids on an ATV, recently there was one where a guy got killed. And if he would have had some training maybe we could have saved him," Safety Day organizer Mark Fisketjon said.

Friday was the 9th annual Progress Agricultural Safety Day in Crookston.
