GF County Sheriff's Office Warns of Credit Card Text Message Scam

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Police have taken numerous reports from people in the county who say they've been getting text messages indicating that their Master Card or Credit Union cards are being deactivated.

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - The Grand Forks Sheriff's Office wants you to know about a credit card scam in the area.

Police have taken numerous reports from people in the county who say they've been getting text messages indicating that their Master Card or Credit Union cards are being deactivated.

The text message comes from either 919-607-9246 or 309-679-7642 and asks for your 16-digit card number and for you to contact the Credit Union Alert Center to keep your account active.

The Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office says you should not follow the instructions as this is a scam.
