Camp Grafton will be getting $2 million in federal funding for its shoreline stabilization projects. The rising Devils Lake is eroding shoreline in wooded areas and training areas of Camp Grafton. 5,000 feet of shoreline will be stabilized with rip rap. Camp Grafton worked on a mile of shoreline ten years ago.
Lt. Col. Clark Johnson/Civil Engineer: "We're trying to tie this project into the project we did ten years ago and the end result will be pretty much the whole southwest shoreline of Camp Grafton will be protected."
The work could start this winter, and could be finished this summer.
