FISHER, MN (WDAZ-TV) - The Polk County Sheriff's Department is investigating allegations of a sexual assault at the Fisher School.
18-year-old Jarrin Dean Boucher has been arrested on charges of first- and second-degree sexual conduct. According to the criminal complaint, Boucher admitted to sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl at the Fisher School.
Boucher is a senior at the school and was working as a teacher's aide in the girl's classroom. She said that Boucher touched her three times.
The incidents were reported to the school principal, who then told the Polk County Sheriff's Department.
Two days after the alleged conduct, Boucher, who turned 18 on April 15, was interviewed by a deputy. He initially denied the accusations but then admitted putting his hand under the girl’s clothing on two occasions that day.
Boucher was assigned to help the kindergarten teacher, Bonnie Nygren, for about an hour a day as part of a Youth Service program in which some of the 21 seniors in Fisher High can help teachers with younger students for class credit, according to Superintendent Don Blaeser.
Boucher is being held at the Tri-County Jail in Crookston on a bond of $250,000.
The school is re-examining its Youth Service program, which has worked well for two decades, Blaeser said.
Boucher charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. The first-degree charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in jail, a $40,000 fine or both. The second-degree charge could mean a sentence of 25 years in prison, a $35,000 fine or both.
The case remains under investigation.
