The committee searching for a permanent successor to Joseph Chapman has approved a presidential profile that spells out the job requirements and expectations. The five-page document states that a doctoral degree is preferred but not required.
Committee member John Q. Paulsen says it is likely that the successful candidate will have a doctorate, but committee members want to consider all options.
The state Board of Higher Education approved the profile on Thursday. The position will be advertised nationally in February.
The committee will begin screening applications after March 1.
