GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Treasure hunters shopped more than 2,000 pieces of jewelry to help raise money for programs at the North Dakota Museum of Art in Grand Forks.

The museum held its annual "Antique to Chic Jewelry Sale" Sunday afternoon.

All items for sale are community donations.

The sale brought in $5,000 last year. Money helps support the museum's summer arts day camps, children and family programs, and the rural arts program.

The sale was started seven years ago as a fun and different way to bring people into the museum.

"Almost every table has some real treasures, you know vintage, sterling silver, even sometimes gold, diamonds that we don't recognize but somebody does and you can get an incredible deal," Director of Education Sue Fink said.

The sale is held every Mother's Day. But you can donate jewelery for the sale at any time. Just drop it off at the North Dakota Museum of Art on the University of North Dakota campus.
