(WDAZ-TV) - Representatives from Devils Lake to Winnipeg will be in Carrington on Tuesday discussing how much water to remove from Devils Lake.

Leaders will decide how to use the Devils Lake outlets.

Devils Lake Basin Joint Water Resource Board manager Jeff Frith says he hopes outlet committees decide to run the pumps non-stop once they are ready to go.

But not everyone feels the same.

The outlets pump water to the Sheyenne river, which reaches the Red River, eventually draining into Lake Winnipeg.

"It's made up of people from different regions. We have an upstream contingency from up around the Devils Lake region, and then there's a contingency from the Sheyenne and Red River, as well as Minnesota and Manitoba," Frith said.

The meeting is open to the public and will begin at 1 p.m. at the Chieftain Conference Center in Carrington.
