GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - A three-car collision sent a Grand Forks man to Altru late Friday afternoon.
The crash happened at S. 20th St. and Charwood Court just before 5 p.m.
Richard Carlson was driving a Mercury Cougar with no license when he drove through a stop sign and collided head on with a Ford Ranger driven by Steve Crary, sending the Ranger into a parked Lincoln with passengers inside.
Both cars suffered major damage.
Crary estimated the Mercury was traveling at almost 40 miles per hour.
Airbags deployed in both vehicles, and the Mercury’s rear left wheel snapped off.
Police say Carlson has a medical condition. He was cited for unqualified operation of a motor vehicle and taken to Altru Hospital by ambulance.
