GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - A hit-and-run car crash on I-29 in Grand Forks left two people injured early Friday morning.

The driver who caused the crash is still being sought by the Highway Patrol.

Grand Forks Air Force Base residents Kristen Jackson, 23, and Erik Carter, 22, were in a 2008 Dodge Avenger on the highway at 2:12 a.m. when they were rear-ended by a 2008 Ford Super-duty.

The collision with the Ford sent Jackson's vehicle into the east ditch. The driver of the Ford didn't stop.

Jackson and Carter were taken by ambulance to Altru Hospital, where they were treated and released. Both were wearing seat belts.

The Ford was found at a home in rural Grand Forks County.

The Dodge Avenger was totaled with read-end damage.
