GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - 468 students in the Grand Forks Public School District are celebrating a new chapter in their lives.

Red River and Central High Schools had graduation ceremonies Sunday afternoon at the Alerus Center.

236 students graduated in the Red River class of 2012. Central High School graduated 197 students.

Family members and school administrators say they're proud of each student's accomplishments.

"It's very exciting to see them having been made good choices in the academic arena and also just in their life that allow them to come to the point where they actually have a diploma in hand and are leaving here for the next phase of their life," Grand Forks Schools Superintendent Dr. Larry Nybladh said.

Community High School graduated 35 students at its ceremony on Thursday.
