EAST GRAND FORKS, MN (WDAZ-TV) - If you're traveling on Bygland Road in East Grand Forks this week, plan for some delays.

The Army Corps of Engineers is working on the city's flood wall closure.

The sill plate that goes across Bygland Road needs to be removed. It will be replaced with concrete.

The plate has had some wear and tear as cars drive over it. Two of the four lanes on Bygland are blocked off for the project.

"As far as I know, there hasn't been any repairs made to the flood wall closure structure since they've been put in over the years," EGF Public Works Director Jason Stordahl said.

The sill plate at the flood wall closure on Demers Avenue will be replaced June 18. That project requires all lanes to be blocked off. Traffic will be diverted to side streets.

Each project is expected to take 10 to 14 days.
