Grafton Mom Back in Jail

The Grafton, N.D., woman whose alleged marijuana habit was exposed to authorities by her 4-year-old daughter was back in jail Tuesday after again failing to pass a drug test.

Kaitlyn Campbell, 21, agreed to a plea agreement in early May in which she will serve 60 days.

According to an affidavit filed May 10 by prosecutor Meredith Larson, Campbell failed a drug test, breaking the conditions of her release. An order to arrest her for violating her bond conditions was issued May 18.

In mid-April, she returned to jail after giving a diluted sample during a screening on March 27.

Campbell was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment following a traffic stop in January in Grand Forks.

During the stop, Campbell’s daughter told a sheriff’s deputy, “Mommy smokes weed all the time,” and identified a piece of her marijuana paraphernalia.
