GRAND FORKS - An 8-month-pregnant woman was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after the vehicle she was driving was involved in an accident at the intersection of Belmont Road and Fourth Avenue South.

According to a witness, the white Chevrolet Lumina driven by the woman was heading south on Belmont around 3:30 p.m. when it collided with a white GMC Yukon, headed east on Fourth Avenue.

The witness could not say whether either vehicle ran a stoplight at the intersection.

The woman driving the Lumina had two male passengers and the female driver of the Yukon had two young girls as passengers.

It was not immediately known if anyone else involved in the accident needed medical attention.

The Lumina ended up facing north on Belmont with damage to the rear of the passenger side and a flat right rear tire.

The Yukon had damage to the left side of its front bumper and ended up facing south in the northbound lane.
