THOMPSON, ND (WDAZ-TV) - A local baseball field is getting a facelift thanks to some big hitters.
The Minnesota Twins gave a $7,000 grant to the Thompson baseball field at Southbrook Park.
That grant was matched by the Thompson Men's Club, so the park has $14,000 for new dugouts.
The Twins give money to towns in the Midwest each year to improve their baseball fields.
"It's a good starting point for us, definitely knocks the sun down and blocks a little bit of wind. It's a great improvement for our fields," Thompson Park District President Mickey Munson said.
Nearly 200 children participate in Thompson's youth baseball programs.
