COOPERSTOWN, ND (WDAZ-TV) - An attempt to pass a referendum to renovate the Griggs County Court house has failed.
Of the more than 1,000 people who voted, more than 50 percent said no to a $3.1 million renovation. 60 percent of the yes votes were needed to pass it.
Griggs County Sheriff Robert Hook says the project would have included fixing a mold problem in the 130-year-old building located in Cooperstown.
A similar referendum also failed last year.
