East Grand Forks Mayor Lynn Stauss said Wednesday that he plans to run for a fifth term in November.

He was first elected in 1995. Stauss served on the City Council between 1980 and 1988. He said this would be his last election.

Stauss said he could still build on his accomplishments by using his experience in office.

“East Grand Forks has moved forward with a lot of different projects since the flood,” he told the Grand Forks Herald. “I think the biggest thing I have going for me is the connections I have.”

Stauss said he already has the record for longest mayor of East Grand Forks. Louis Murray was mayor of the city for 15 years.
