MOORHEAD – Minnesota State Patrol are investigating a head-on collision involving two vehicles on eastbound Interstate 94 about seven miles outside of Moorhead just after 4:30 p.m., according to a news release from the patrol.
According to police dispatchers, a semi collided head-on with a passenger car, a collision that reportedly left the truck in flames.
A helicopter landed in the area to transport one of the people involved in the crash to a hospital. The accident did involve a personal injury, the patrol release said, but there was no other information available immediately.
Eastbound traffic on I-94 was being rerouted about 5 p.m. by police officials at exit 6 outside of Moorhead, and the patrol said lanes heading west were blocked.
There appeared to be bumper-to-bumper traffic backed up for about three miles towards the city.
