DEVILS LAKE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Local anglers didn't win this weekend's annual Chamber Walleye Tournament, but a Devils Lake fisherman did claim second place.

100 teams competed Friday and Saturday to reel in the most Walleyes at Grahams Island State Park. The winners got the grand prize of $5,000.

Devils Lake resident Bryan Lang and his son Mitch collected the runner up prize of $2,800.

Lang says he's fished in the tournament for 15 years and never finished above seventh place. But he says with all the expert anglers in the Lake Region, he hardly considers himself one of the best.

"It feels pretty good. You always think you're a pretty fair fisherman and it's fun to get out there and actually see where you're gonna line up and this year we did really well and finished second, so we feel pretty good about it," Bryan Lang said.

Overall numbers were down this year for the tournament. There are usually closer to 150 teams participating.
