PITTSBURGH (AP) — A western Pennsylvania jury is now hearing testimony in the trial of a man accused of having killed his wife after an argument over a Pittsburgh Penguins game two years ago.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (http://bit.ly/Mx9BWp ) says the Allegheny County trial of 42-year-old Robert Abrams of South Fayette Township began Monday.
Authorities allege that Abrams beat 44-year-old Jeanette Abrams with a hammer and stabbed her in April 2010.
Police said the two had argued over the late hour of the Penguins' triple-overtime playoff loss to the Ottawa Senators in Game 5 of their first-round matchup.
Officials allege that the defendant then set fire to their house, jumped out of a window and went to a neighbor's home to report the blaze.
