GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - The city of Grand Forks may be paying more than expected for a project to widen Columbia Road.

Because of a lack of federal funding, the city will be paying $300,000 more than planned.

City officials say they won't change the project to widen a stretch of Columbia Road from 11th Avenue South to the Demers overpass.

To make up for the shortage, the city will use money saved from another project completed last year at the intersection of Gateway and Columbia.
