The City of East Grand Forks wants to rework it's contract for running the state recreational area.

The city operates the Red River Recreational Area under a contract with the DNR.

But city administrator Scott Huizenga says the revenues have not covered the expenses.

Huizenga says the DNR could do a better job of compensating the city for running the park and improvements it's made.

The city says state park compensation is one of the changes they will push for during this year's legislative session.
