(WDAZ-TV) - Grand Forks resident and candidate for North Dakota Governor, Roland Riemers, might not see his name on the November ballot.

North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger says the Libertarian Party candidate received enough votes in the June 12 primary to qualify for the general election, but Riemers didn't have a running mate listed on the June ballot.

Jaeger is now asking Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem for his opinion on whether Riemers can be on the November general election ballot.

Jaeger says the state's constitution requires the governor and lieutenant governor to be elected on a joint ballot, that a vote cast for governor also is a vote cast for the second-in command.

Jaeger asked Stenehjem Wednesday to clarify the matter.
