GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Stormy weather didn't stop hundreds from enjoying 4th of July activities in downtown Grand Forks.

People lined the streets during the Sertoma Club's downtown celebration as the Patriotic Kids Parade started.

The parade is just one of the many events throughout the day. People also enjoyed a petting zoo, watermelon feed and pony rides.

Parade participants with little ones say they are happy the weather was a little cooler than expected.

"It just kind of gets you out and doing something in the community," Sarah Duphorn said.

If you are in the mood for some fireworks tonight, the 53rd annual fireworks show kicks off downtown at 10:30 p.m.

Billy D & The Crystals will perform from 8 p.m. until midnight.
