Forward Devils Lake Helping New Businesses Get Started

Forward Devils Lake is working to bring new businesses to Devils Lake; the latest is Park Model Homes. Forward Devils Lake worked with ten different businesses in 2009, and this has created or helped save 30 to 40 jobs. It has already worked with Devils Lake Aero, the Mini Mall, and Devils Lake Kids.

Forward Devils Lake Executive Director Chris Schilken says that Park Model Homes will be a good fit for the community, and that the rising lake won't be a problem for these homes.

Chris Schilken/Forward Devils Lake Executive Director: "They're under 400 square feet so they can be put on any elevation, so that really doesn't affect them as it would a regular cabin."

Forward Devils Lake has helped businesses secure loans ranging from $15,000 to $50,000.
