Fossil Dig Set at Pembina River Gorge

WALHALLA, N.D. (AP) — An 80-million-year-old fossil site containing the remains of giant sea lizards and other creatures is being excavated at the Pembina River Gorge in northeastern North Dakota.

WALHALLA, N.D. (AP) — An 80-million-year-old fossil site containing the remains of giant sea lizards and other creatures is being excavated at the Pembina River Gorge in northeastern North Dakota.

The fossil dig sponsored by the North Dakota Geological Survey, state Parks and Recreation Department and Walhalla Economic Development Office was beginning Saturday and is to run through July 15.

Members of the public can take part, for a fee.
