When you rub elbows with the President there is a chance you will wind up in the national media.

Which is exactly what happened to Grand Forks Mayor Mike Brown. Typically found in his city hall chambers, he recently found himself in a different spotlight.

The New York Times.

He was in Washington D.C. last week for the annual U.S. Mayor's Conference and went to the White House to meet with the President. He was in the photo taken of the crowd.

Brown says it was fun to spot himself in the photo. "I went to the person with the paper and I said, 'can I have this page, my picture is on it' and he goes, 'yeah.' Then he saw it and gave it to me, so it was kind of a shock."
