It's a big next few days as the Devils Lake Volunteer Fire Department's annual fishing tournament is this weekend. The North Dakota Highway Patrol and Devils Lake Police want to make sure people enjoy themselves without putting themselves or others in danger.

They will be having an alcohol enforcement saturation on Friday and Saturday night. This means there will be more officers out looking for drunk drivers. The Highway Patrol will have four extra officers out each night. They'll be paid with money from the Department of Transportation.

There have been increases in DUI arrests during the weekend of the fishing tournament in the past, but in recent years those numbers have been down.

Capt. Kyle Ternes/North Dakota Highway Patrol: "We know there will be a much greater volume of people moving throughout the Devils Lake and Lake Region area and with that we feel that there will be a greater need for our services as well."

Officers hope the saturation will keep people from drinking and driving.
