FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Amtrak's Empire Builder passenger train was delayed in North Dakota for about 1 ½ hours because of a vehicle that was abandoned on the tracks in Fargo.
KFGO radio reports (http://bit.ly/Mkc3nX ) that a passer-by spotted the sport utility vehicle about 4 a.m. Thursday and alerted authorities. Police then notified railroad officials to hold all traffic on the route until the vehicle could be removed.
Authorities did not immediately find the driver who left the vehicle stuck on the tracks.
The Empire Builder runs between Chicago and the Pacific Northwest.
