NWS: Tornado Touched Down Southwest of Grand Forks Thursday

(WDAZ-TV) - The National Weather Service says a storm damage survey shows a weak tornado touched down near Reynolds, ND, in Grand Forks County on Thursday afternoon.

(WDAZ-TV) - The National Weather Service says a storm damage survey shows a weak tornado touched down near Reynolds, ND, in Grand Forks County on Thursday afternoon.

The EF-1 tornado lasted from about 4:35 to 4:45 p.m. and the path width was 100 to 150 yards.

Peak winds in the storm reached around 100 mph.

The tornado tracked from 3.8 miles north-northeast of Reynolds to 5.7 miles northeast of Reynolds.

A few farmsteads sustained some damage such as downed trees and branches and two wooden power poles on the county road were also taken out.

The tornado also flattened crops on the south side of 3rd Ave.

There were also funnel clouds spotted on Thursday, three miles east of Conway, MN, in Walsh County, one near Eldred, ND, and another near Greenbush, MN.

There were reports of hail up to 1.75 inch northeast of Barnsville.
