GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - A UND law professor will get the chance to study the legal system overseas thanks to a grant.
Robin Runge has received a Fulbright Research Scholar grant to study the legal system and it's response to violence against women in China.
The professor will interview Chinese judges, scholars and lawyers in different regions of China and write an article comparing the country's different approaches to the issue.
Runge hopes to bring back experiences that will help her in the classroom.
"Having opportunities to speak at conferences with peers from other countries so they can learn from what China and the U.S. are doing and integrate that into their country if they think it's appropriate," Runge said.
The professor says violence is a global epidemic and she hopes to help make a difference.
