East Grand Forks Football Team Holds First Practice of the Year

The East Grand Forks football team held its first practice of the year. More than twenty players with starting experience are back and the team has a new motto -- "Be the best." Coach Scott Oliver hopes that motto can help the team bounce back from a disappointing end to the 2011 season, which saw them drop out in the first round of the playoffs.

"'Be the best' means being the best on the field," Oliver said, "being the best in the classroom and being the best out in the community. The message we have that we send out with all our players is that we want to be the best we can be at everything we are doing at that given time."

Four starters are back in the offensive line, including Brendon Dos Santos and Tyler Driscoll, who is returning from season-ending injuries. The Greenwave's first game is against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.
