The first alleged client in the human trafficking ring that prostituted a 17-year-old girl has been charged.
60-year-old Michael Delmore, a retired high school counselor of Grand Forks was charged last week in state district court with hiring someone to engage in sexual acts.
Documents filed in the case show the girl lived near Larimore recently. Delmore retired this spring after years as a counselor at Larimore High School. He told investigators he had seen the girl's information on a website under an escort service and made an appointment. The girl said she was taken to Delmore's home in the spring of 2011. She said he requested sexual acts from her and paid her 80 dollars. The Class B misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail. Delmore lives in Grand Forks with his wife Lois who is also a teacher and a Democratic member of the North Dakota House.
