The annual Heritage Days celebration begins tonight in East Grand Forks.

A new building this year at the Heritage contains a memory room, printing press, doctor's office and military room is still in the works but some of it has been completed and is ready for visitors.

Organizers say Heritage Days is a great time for children to get a taste of what life was like years ago.

Terri Hammarback, Heritage Board President: "We want our kids to know how hard it was for our pioneers to come and get all this going and they stuck it out and we give the kids a chance to try it."

Heritage Days began with a car show that started at 5 o'clock. It will be followed by a dance from six until nine featuring Kenny and the Classics.
