River Cities Speedway will be packed with more than 30 cars this evening as the "World Of Outlaws" Sprint Cars return to Grand Forks. Whoever finishes the 40 laps first wins 10-thousand dollars.
Thousands of people are making their way here tonight to see drivers like Kraig and Steve Kinser as well as Fargo driver Donny Schatz hit the track.
Each time the event comes to town, people from all over are drawn to the quarter-mile track which drivers say can be intimidating. They
say River Cities Speedway is the fastest track and can be tough because of the high banking.
The last race was in June with nearly 6-thousand people filling the stands. Organizers say they expect just as many fans this year.
Shawn Miller, World of Outlaws Public Relations Coordinator: "These are the best of the best, these are the World Of Outlaw drivers, these are the guys that are at the top of their game. They have the big haulers, experience and some of them have a little bit of the financial backing that allows us to go across the country and race from North Dakota to Florida to New York."
Gates are already open, with hot laps starting at 6:30, qualifying at 7 and the race at 7:30.
