Tonight, police caught a man they spent hours searching for after he led them on a high-speed chase from Grand Forks to Larimore.

Police radio traffic indicates that speeds in the chase reached 110 miles per hour westbound on U.S. Highway 2.

Police put spike strips in the roadway at one point during the chase, but the driver went around them. The vehicle turned left off of Highway 2 onto North Dakota Highway 18 and headed south into Larimore.

The driver led police along numerous streets in Larimore. Then the vehicle apparently left town and drove into a bean field. Radio traffic indicates that one person took off on foot and led police on a manhunt.

Police spent about two hours looking for him and finally arrested him in Larimore.

The vehicle was a black Pontiac with Minnesota plates.
