Local police agencies are conducting a sobriety checkpoint this weekend in Grand Forks County.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Grand Forks County Sheriff's Department and the Grand Forks Police Department will stop vehicles at the predetermined location and remove impaired drivers from the roads.
To date in 2012, 43 people have lost their lives in alcohol related crashes in the state of North Dakota. In 2011, 66 people lost their lives in alcohol related crashes.
55% of fatal crash victims in the Northeast Region so far in 2012 were killed in alcohol related crashes.
