A larger-than-life-sized sand sculpture of President Obama is attracting some attention in Charlotte.

A larger-than-life-sized sand sculpture of President Obama is attracting some attention in Charlotte.
The sculpture brings a little bit of the beach to the DNC’s host city despite its distance from the ocean. Just a few blocks from the convention hall the sand Obama stands 25 feet tall. The President is displayed with a big smile and crossed arms. 15 tons of sand from a mine in South Carolina were used to build the figure costing $30,000.
