Grand Forks Residents Face Off Against City Council Budget Proposal

Tonight the Grand Forks city council had a chance to dig into the mayor's preliminary 2013 budget and before the council even got into that they were defending themselves to grand forks residents who were complaining their property taxes were too high and road projects were unnecessary.
The total proposed budget for all funds is more than $130 million compared to roughly $128 million last year. And once the council approves the preliminary budget it can't raise funds any higher.
After long discussion earlier in the meeting about taxes being raised by council members, council President Hal Gershman stood his ground.
