A Thief River Falls city councilman has resigned after being charged with interference with privacy.
Dean Swanson is accused of looking under a men's bathroom stall at a city owned campground. Pennington County Assistant Attorney Kristin Hanson says a man entered the bathrooms on the night of September 1st and noticed Swanson looking under the stall. He told Swanson to stop and then left. The man returned an hour and a half later to find the Swanson still in the stall and notified police. Swanson resigned from the council last Wednesday saying he needed to deal with personal matters. He has been on the Thief River Falls council since January of 2011.
