North Dakota May Soon Be Exempt from Portions of No Child Left Behind

North Dakota could soon be released from certain provisions pertaining to the “No Child Left Behind” Act.

North Dakota could soon be released from certain provisions pertaining to the “No Child Left Behind” Act.

The state applied for a waiver that 37 other states including Minnesota currently have which gives educators more freedom. This recommendation comes after an 11-month study conducted by teachers and legislatures from across the state. And now officials are playing the waiting game and crossing their fingers that they're granted more flexibility. The waiver application would become effective for the 2013-2014 academic year.
