UND and its partners, including NASA, took a big step forward today in unmanned aircraft technology.
Today research was tested that could likely be used on unmanned aircraft systems in the near future. NASA has brought one of its special planes to Grand Forks, a Cirrus built partially in Cirrus’ Grand Forks facility, to test a "sense and avoid" system UND students have been working on for the last few years. Developers we talked with today say they are not going to solve sense and avoid challenges with today's work, but they will learn what they can build on. David Schwab reports.
