Public Service Commission candidate Brad Crabtree says for the second year in a row North Dakota ranks lowest in the nation for energy efficiency. Crabtree says he is aiming to change that.

At a news conference today in Grand Forks Crabtree said it will be more and more difficult to keep energy affordable in the future. He says he has a plan to help the state keep up. Crabtree is calling for an energy efficiency policy that among other things would require all government facilities to meet high energy efficiency standards.

Crabtree praised the city of Grand Forks for leadership in energy efficiency despite what he calls a lack of leadership from the state.
